We are committed to diversity and inclusion at all levels of the Department. Our trainees are committed to social justice and are active participants and a driving force in efforts to wrestle with issues of bias and disparities of care that are embedded in health care systems. We strive to contribute to the field of medicine through ethical study and equitable evidence-based care, and to treat our patients with compassion, humility and equanimity.
The mission of the Pediatric Residency Program at NYC Health + Hospitals Jacobi is to provide our trainees with a comprehensive educational experience which will prepare them for careers in pediatrics. The diverse population cared for at the Jacobi Medical Center offers our residents exposure to the full depth and breadth of pediatrics, in health and disease. We are committed to fostering empathy, compassion and a culture of care, not just for our patients but also for ourselves and for our colleagues in healthcare. Faculty mentorship fosters intellectual curiosity and provides an excellent foundation for pursuing future training in academic pediatrics and the pediatric subspecialties.
